wellie bootsPut yer wellies down cause you don’t need ’em. These festivals are the kind where you just need comfy shoes, a love of all things fibre related and appetite for cake. Mmmm cake.

In January I discovered the Travel Knitter’s Yarn Festival post that she puts together every November. It liss all the yarn festivals in the UK. She’s recently updated the list as more festivals are confirmed / set dates. In January, I had a quick look and with some rubber arm twisting decided on Edinburgh Yarn Festival.

Since I’m new here and not familiar with the geography, I didn’t know where to start. Most of the festivals I liked the look of required a lengthy car journey. Travelling 6hrs in the car is not so cool with small people. So I went through The TK’s list & plotted the festivals on a map.

I’ve my eye on these 2-3.

  1. Yarn in the City Sept 5th
  2. The Knitting & Stitching Show Oct 7th – 10th
  3. Festiwool Nov 14th

I’d also like to go to Yarndale and Shetland Wool Week. Who knows what next year will bring, eh? Which one(s) are you thinking of going to or dream of visiting?

I’ll definitely be at the Yarn in the City event, and possibly Festiwool. But also quite a few others.

I’ve also got another blog post or two up my sleeve if you fancy daydreaming about even further flung events :).
